“Meet Me There” is indeed a point of rendezvous, a place between downtown and deep in the bush. The first elements to inspire me in this work of hypercollage were the vines I’d see draped on trees, and between them, in urban environments. To me, they were lines of connection, conductors of awareness and energy. They linked together further elements — the cityscape’s perched birds and paint spatters, the vibrant flora of the wilderness. Fiercely urban yet resplendently organic, “Meet Me There” is a reminder of nature’s eternal, ubiquitous and undeniable presence.
